STONE ISLAND If you are sick to the back teeth of ‘Authentic’, ‘a hundred% Real’, ‘Purchased BY MY GIRLFRIEND’, ‘STAKE MY LIFE ON IT’ (and a few of them ought to), Garbage Stone Island garments, have a read of this.
I purchased three different coats, Raso Gommatto (positive !) ,varied sizes and all ‘Pukka’. What a load of crap! All three went back having paid what i believed would keep me out of ‘Fakesville’ an average of £130+, let me tell you that you are waisting your money !! I moved heaven and earth to get my money again and so should you.
I do own a number of originals, bought in Firenze( Florence, Italy) with no bull guarantees,so here’s what i know…………
To begin with, the tags ought to be similar. The sewn in tag number and the tie-on tag number. As stated elsewhere, 2006 objects WILL begin with a 44 or forty five. If the tags don’t match, bin it.
The sewn in tag (S.P.A., Art and many others) WILL show country of origin(varied nations involved are Italy,Romania,London..for ventile jackets(woven in Great Britain)..and Cina….this final one is actually China, however as with the word CIAO,the italians pronounce ‘C’ as ..ch…..) these international locations produce various components or materials and the tag will all the time read RAVARINO (Mo), ITALY in smaller print.
Next, the patch buttons Will probably be distinctive, black with stone island etched around the skin and the middle of the button Will probably be a ‘+’ sign,it will make the holes where the thread goes quarter circles, NOT regular holes as another button with a ‘+’ signal between them…..Since i first started scripting this,i’ve updated this guide with data gained first hand, so, there appears to be yet another arsehole making fakes on the market, someone can now immitate the ‘+’ sign buttons, tho’ not very nicely !! The brand new batch of fake buttons have a ‘+’ sign for the eyes,However, they’re DULL plastic copies, versus GLOSS S.I. originals. Additionally, the pretend buttons place the ‘+’ signal very deep into the button, noticeably deep. The fakes are also sharp edged to the inside of the button, whereas S.I. are easy. The ultimate damnation is that this, on the back of these buttons, (normally the patch button ), the fakes are Cheap Stone Island easy. The original buttons have two round indentations, virtually holes, on the reverse of the words ‘STONE’ and ‘ISLAND’ , this is the place the buttons had been held within the press.
The arm patch, an ideal source of delight, must be silk backed, but more importantly,it Will need to have the badge detail (compass and writing ) displaying in FULL on the reverse side, many faux badges are only part sewn onto the reverse
If i cannot see clear footage of any garment,my initial response is they are attempting to cover something
I hope this helps, these bastards should be uncovered for selling fake gear to a,(generally),unsuspecting public.
The only buttons with holes would be the bigger buttons, the sleeve patch buttons and all different small buttons might be as above
Zips should not just for doing up the jacket, they too must be quality gadgets YKK,LAMPO and so forth …not kanglidanglicheapaschipsbutrightcolourshite (mine are all YKK or LAMPO)
Next is the sizing, go on the stoneisland.co.uk site and you will notice the european dimension chart is totally different to ours. A jacket marked M, Will likely be a small in our sizing, L medium and XL clearly giant.
